The St Louis Rv show Started 2011 off with a big bang!  Record breaking crowds on Sat made for a crowded but suceesful Day!  Congratulations to all of our new owners! A Big thanks to Randy, John, Buddy, & Richard for working so hard to make the Campers shine! A Big Thanks to all of the drivers who volunteered their time to get the campers back to the Shop.  Phyllis did a wonderful job decorating each trailer & many people commented on how well they were presented.  Neta has been super busy getting everyones paper work in order. We all know how busy Bob was TALKING, but he was also the St. Louis RV Show Chairman this year and many people saw him on the news.  A Special thanks to Jeff & Tracey for all of their invaluable help. We also appreciate all of the help and knowledge our Factory reps, Doug, Tim & Collin brought to the Show! Robert & I also want to thank our families for holding down the fort while we were gone. Without everyones help we could not have had as successful of a show.

In conjunction with our RV 101 seminar we have added a MODOT car seat check up & Camping Safety Day.  Modot carseat experts will be here to check the condition and installation of your car seat.  The car seat check is NOT limited to campers! Any parent, grandparent, guardian, babysitter etc. who has children in a car seat are welcome to stop by. There will also be a drawing for a free car seat!

 47 West is also hosting a camping safety seminar From 10am til 2pm Oct 16th.  Safety Expert Lisa Sitler will be here to address camping safety.  While this safety day is open to any one, Lisa  does an excellent job of relating to children.  She will spend quality time with the kids and will be talking about insect bites, poisionous animals & plant, campfires, etc. There will also be time for questions. We at 47 West are commited to safety when it comes to our customers and we inviting you and your family to join us for a fun & informative day!

As we are coming into fall many people are starting to ask about getting their campers ready for winter.  We are going to have a RV 101 seminar on Oct 16th to get many of these questions answered. JD Overstreet will answer questions on winterization, ventilation, satellite/antenna, and other general camper questions. Bring your questions and come on out.  We will be giving out door prizes and have resfreshments. See you then!

The most frequent questions in the past month have been about refrigeration cooling. Many people are not giving their refrigerator the time it needs to cool down. After being closed down fromthe winter it will take 3-4 hours for the unit to chill down.  If you put hot or room temperature items in it will take longer & will be harder on your refrigeration unit. If you chill the items first it will give your fridge a break.  Another simple idea is to put ice, either frozen in bottles or a bag of ice in the freezer.  This Starts the cooling process faster.

On Saturday, June 26th we are hosting another seminar for campers! We are inviting everyone in to our shop to learn about Camping.  JD Overstreet our factory rep will be here to talk about the systems in the camper.  We will have a camper pulled in to the shop so we can do a "hands on" seminar. We would love for you to bring your camping questions as well.  We will have refreshments, discounts & door prizes!  come join us.

We just wanted to thank everyone who came out to the satellite seminar on Saturday May 22nd.  We had a great turn out for the first sunny Saturday in May!   Jd Overstreet did a great job showing us the newest in satellite options for RV's.  Congratulations to the Reid Family for winning the drawing for the manual Satellite system.  We hope you have a great time with it! Many or our customers will remember our good friend Les Whiteside.  Les lost his battle with cancer on Saturday.  We are deeply saddened by his passsing. Les will missed.  Les retired from here in the spring of 2009.  We still keep his picture by his desk.  We miss you Les!

This is a big thank you for all of our Food Drive Donors!!!! We took the small toyhauler full of canned goods and boxed food to the Bread For Life Food Pantry Wed evening!  They are currently serving an avaerage of 100 families per week.  They were very greatful to see the food.  Thanks to our customers and the 4-H Clubs who donated!
